PRESS RELEASE \ San Francisco, CA – November 27th, 2012
Sistelnetworks adds NFC to tablets and smartphones in a natural way.
Sistelnetworks, introduces the vWand, an innovative NFC-Bluetooth gateway designed to add NFC to tablets and smartphones in a natural way. In the form factor of a marker, it features a soft rubber nib to interact with the touchscreen, and enables a variety of NFC applications like medical history, inventory, or logistics.
“With the vWand, professionals and consumers will be able to add NFC to their devices and enjoy the benefits of this technology – said Oscar Carrasco, CTO, Sistelnetworks – The vWand is an enabler for a new variety of NFC applications for tablets and smartphones equipped with touchscreen.”
“When designing the vWand, we were seeking a natural user experience. It provides a comfortable use of NFC, especially for tablets, given that the user can read or write NFC tags with the same device that is using to interact with the touchscreen – said Jorge Marcos, Product Manager, Sistelnetworks.
Sistelnetworks will be presenting the vWand, from the 27th of November to the 29th at the WIMA NFC USA, booth number 1, Marriott San Francisco Airport Waterfront (1800 Old Bayshore Rd. Burlingame, CA).
The vWand allows for the integration of smart NFC tags with tablets with an intuitive and natural use. The user can work on the tablet using the capacitive nib, and read or write NFC tags with the other side of the device.
